Pomegranate Juice

Homemade pomegranate juice is one of the healthiest juice options for those who suffer from chronic skin conditions, as it is packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and plant compounds that may help address the underlying causes of chronic skin inflammation.

Ingredients:

2 large ripe pomegranates

½ cup filtered water (optional, for lighter juice)

A few ice cubes (optional)


Directions:

Slice the pomegranates in half. Hold each half over a bowl and tap the back firmly with a wooden spoon to release the seeds. Pick out any bits of white pith (they taste bitter).

Place the pomegranate seeds in a blender. Pulse a few times just until the seeds release their juice (avoid over-blending to reduce bitterness).

Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a jug. Use the back of a spoon to press out as much juice as possible. Discard the seed pulp. Pour into cups. Add filtered water if the flavour is too strong, and serve chilled or over ice.
